
The diplomatic relations between Finland and Pakistan were signed on January 15, 1951 and this week both countries have been celebrating the 7 Decades of Bilateral Relations.
Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan sent a letter to his Finnish counterpart, Pekka Haavisto, Foreign Minister of Finland, highlighting role of education, innovation and sustainable development in bilateral relations. Furthermore, Minister Pekka Haavisto encouraged both Finnish and Pakistani companies for growing trade and cooperation and mentioned the role of personal contacts and people-to-people contacts
We congratulate both countries and Governments for such a great milestone! Process started with the nomination of the first ever Honorary Consul of Pakistan to Finland on May 4 in 1950 and we are thrilled to see this 70 Years reached and look for many decades more for developing relations between the two countries.
