A Finnish delegation of Healthcare and Education professionals visited Pakistan 14-18 January 2020, starting this active year of 2020.
Delegation – lead by Mr. Wille Eerola, Hon. Consul General of Pakistan to Finland – with representatives of University of Turku and Turku University of Applied Sciences – was hosted by the top management of Shifa International Hospitals and Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University in Islamabad, leading operators in the healthcare sector in Pakistan.
The visit really started the second chapter of plans for cooperation started already in January 2019 in Turku, Finland where a Pakistani delegation visited the leading educational institutes. The extensive program during the visit in Islamabad included various discussions for concrete cooperation between the parties and visits to all campuses of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University.

“We took one step further to start cooperation between some of the leading operators in both countries for developing education in the healthcare sector in Pakistan”, Mr. Wille Eerola, Hon. Consul General of Pakistan to Finland said. “I am looking forward to see the first concrete initiatives in place quite soon, especially like nursing, early childhood healthcare, midwifery, dentistry and healthcare related technologies. There is a great Momentum for both parties to build programs and projects supporting the future of Pakistan”.



This delegation was the first one of the 70 Anniversary Year of Honorary Consulate of Pakistan in Finland.
