Mr. Wille Eerola, Hon. Consul General of Pakistan in Finland wants to express his personal congratulations to Dr. Mariliis Beger for her appointment as Honorary Consul of Pakistan in Estonia, actually the first one ever. She was appointed by the H.E. Mamnoon Hussain, President of Pakistan on 6th of July 2018 and started to operate this month from Tallinn, Estonia.

“This is very good news to both Pakistan and Estonia”, Mr. Wille Eerola says. “Estonia is the world’s best example of a small country where e.g. digitalisation is really the core of development in the society and I believe there would plenty of opportunities for cooperation between Estonian and Pakistan governments and corporate sector. And based on the close relations between Finland and Estonia, I believe there would be huge opportunities for some trilateral cooperation, too”.

Dr. Mariliis Beger is a communication expert and has been involved with Pakistan since 2008 when she joined the South-Asian Media Studies research group at Florida State University. “Most people in Estonia don’t know that Pakistan has a lot to offer. What do I like the most there? Its people. I have never met such kind and caring people anywhere else in the world. In addition, Pakistan’s breathtaking nature, amazing food, its fascinating culture, and a mix on old and new made me fall in love with this country at first sight. I am looking forward to strengthen and build new relationships between Estonia and Pakistan in science and education, tourism, culture, and business”, she says.
